Day 1, USA - HELSINKI:
Depart USA and fly through the transatlantic night to Helsinki.

Day 2, HELSINKI IVALO SAARISELKA:
Arrive Helsinki's Vantaa Airport and fly due north to Ivalo, a city on the Finnish fell way above the Arctic Circle. Here you are met by a driver guide, taking you across the wide and open plains to Saariselka, an alpine village girdled by gently rolling hills nestled on the Russian border. The holiday village of Saariselka offers an abundance of overwhelming experiences of unspoiled wilderness, while at the same time offering all modern conveniences.

Day 3, SAARISELKA & LAKE INARI:
Today you will take part in a Lapland adventure when you are introduced to the culture and traditions of the Nomadic tribe that call this huge fell their homeland. You set off with a safari guide by jeep bound for the village 50 miles away. The road winds through the forests and along the shoreline of the vast Inari Lake. In Inari, pay a visit to the Lapp Museum, displaying the life of the nomadic, reindeer herding Lapps as it was in the past. A boat cruise down the River Ivalojoki allows you to savor the stunningly beautiful arctic landscapes and enjoy lunch al fresco around an open fire on a small island in the stream. (An app. five hours excursion, then back to Saariselka).

Day 4, SAARISELKA & VISIT TO REINDEER FARM:
Herding reindeer is an integral part of the Lapp heritage, and even today reindeer husbandry provides some 2000 Lapp families with a livelihood. The host of a local reindeer farm will tell you more about this old tradition and the Lapp lifestyle while visiting his farm. You will get the opportunity to throw a reindeer lasso and enjoy coffee with traditional cakes in a Lapp tepee (app. 3 hours).

Day 5, SAARISELKA TANKAVAARA ROVANIEMI:
This morning we board a private motor coach bound for Rovaniemi, a town designed by famous architect Alvar Alto and nestled just south of the Arctic Circle. Stop en route in Tankavaara «Gold» Village. Lapland's first gold rush took place here in the late 19th century after the first discovery in 1868. You will be presented to the art of panning for gold, before proceeding to Luosto for lunch. Afternoon arrival in Rovaniemi.

Day 6, ROVANIEMI & SANTA'S WORLD:
Today you will start with sightseeing tour, which includes a tour of the city as well as a visit to Santa Claus Village. Drop by Santa's workshop, meet the jolly old man in person, do some souvenir shopping and enjoy lunch in a cozy restaurant. Later on go on a boat trip down the River Kemijoki an exhilarating passage in a wooden riverboat. Visit a reindeer farm and learn the secrets of reindeer rearing. The adventure ends with a special Lapp ceremony commemorating your historical crossing of the Arctic Circle. Return to downtown by boat.

Day 7, ROVANIEMI HELSINKI:
Transfer from Rovaniemi to the airport by private car (included). Board your plane and fly south to Finland's majestic capital, Helsinki. A shuttle bus into the city center is fast and convenient. Stay in elegance and comfort next to the bus and monumental railway station, and within walking distance to shopping and the restaurants on the Esplanaden.

Day 8, HELSINKI:
Today is free to explore Helsinki on your own. Do not miss such famous sights as the Senate Square, Uspenskij Cathedral, Parliament House, Finlandia Hall, the New Opera House, Sibelius Park & Monument and the Rock Church - Temppeliaukion Kirkko. Why not treat yourself to a Farewell to Finland dinner in one of the elegant restaurants on the Esplanaden Boulevard?

Day 9, HELSINKI USA:
Transfer to Vantaa Airport by airport shuttle and board your flight bound for the USA.
