Day 1, OSLO: Individual arrival in Oslo, the capital of Norway. Check into your hotel, which is located in downtown Oslo, within walking distance to Karl Johan's Gate the main street and to most major attractions. Hotel: Bristol DAY 2, OSLO-ULVIK: Morning departure by train across the Hardangervidda mountain plateau to the alpine village of Voss. Continue by local bus on the winding roads to the quaint village of Ulvik. Enjoy the rest of the day in the fjord village of Ulvik a rarity of an unspoiled resort lying like a fist at the end of an arm of the Hardanger Fjord, surrounded in summer by misty peaks and fruit farms. Hotel: Brakanes * B/D Day 3, ULVIK-EIDFJORD: This morning walk over to the pier. Your boat departs at 11:10am. Arrive in the charming fjord village of Eidfjord at 11:40am. Here in Eidfjord you will have a chance to see the magnificent Hardangervidda Nature Center, and most of all one of Norway's most famous waterfalls the "Voringfossen". Hotel: Eidfjord * B/D Day 4, EIDFJORD-NORHEIMSUND-BERGEN: This morning you will have time to visit both the Hardangervidda Nature Center and the "Voringfossen" (not included). The afternoon's fjord cruise will take you to Norheimsund and on to Bergen with local bus. Bergen is an old city with a history dating back to the ancient Viking sagas. Until the 14th century, it was the seat of the medieval kingdom of Norway. The Hanseatic merchants established a major trading post here, keeping it's until the 18th century. This heritage can still be seen today around "Bryggen" the Hanseatic Harbor area with old wooden houses and quaint restaurants.
